Who We Are
The Broward Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), District 5 proudly represents more than 3,200 law enforcement officers, corrections professionals, and public safety employees across Broward County. We are part of the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers — the Fraternal Order of Police — with over 370,000 members nationwide.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to protect those who protect others. We advocate for fair treatment, safe working conditions, competitive wages, and strong benefits for our members, while also standing up for the integrity of the profession and the communities we serve.

Our Purpose
The Broward FOP exists to:
- Support Our Members – through collective bargaining, legal defense, pension advocacy, and peer support programs.
- Promote Public Safety – by collaborating with city, county, and state leaders to implement policies that keep our communities safe.
- Invest in the Future – through scholarships, youth programs, and community outreach initiatives that build trust and foster the next generation of leaders.
- Defend the Profession – by educating the public, media, and policymakers about the challenges of law enforcement and advocating for common-sense reforms.
Community Commitment
Beyond the badge, we are neighbors, parents, coaches, and volunteers. Each local FOP lodge in Broward County operates its own nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting officers and giving back to the community. These nonprofits provide scholarships, emergency assistance, and fund programs that empower officers to help community members in need when it matters most.
Our lodges also sponsor youth sports, organize local events, and partner with schools, civic groups, and charities to build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods we serve. Together, these efforts make Broward County a safer, more connected, and more compassionate place to live.

Leadership
Broward FOP (District 5) serves as the coordinating body for local lodges throughout Broward County. Our leadership team works tirelessly to represent members’ interests at the negotiating table, before city and county commissions, and at the Florida State Capitol. We believe in transparency, accountability, and ensuring that every member has a voice.
